There's a particular warmth to jump blues — the feeling that the music is asking you to move, asking you to smile, asking you to be present. David Tanganelli has spent 15 years learning how to deliver exactly that.

Born in São Carlos and based in São Paulo, David recorded his album Up at Lipe Studios with producer Cesar Bocchini. The album draws on jump blues, swing, R&B, and classic soul — a range that reflects a life spent listening carefully. "This album is about my whole life and my musical influences," he told us, and you can hear it: BB King's guitar tone, the rhythmic authority of James Brown, the pop intelligence of Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.

The title Up is intentional. This is music that lifts. And David intends to take it as far as possible — plans include touring in Argentina at Mr. Jones Buenos Aires, as well as dates in Europe and the USA.

In a South American blues scene that's growing but still underrepresented internationally, David Tanganelli is doing the work to change that — one stage at a time.
