Jordan received his first guitar from his father when he was young enough that he didn't fully understand what it meant. He does now. Faced — the Upstate New York metal band he leads alongside vocalist Philip Lupin, bassist Steve Wick, and drummer Jason Matthews — is the direct result of a lifetime of taking that gift seriously.
Their album Death Trip features "Sheep Music", a track Jordan had been developing as a demo for years before the full band finally brought it to the form it deserved. Mixed and mastered by Thomas Case, the album represents what Faced stand for: organic recording, all the way through. No fake amp simulations. No drum programming. What you hear is what they played.
"What you hear on the record is exactly what you hear live," Jordan told us. In an era when that's no longer a given, it's a meaningful commitment — and it shows. Faced sound like a room, not a computer, and that immediacy is what makes the music hit.
