Pilot is a Belgian alternative rock band formed in 2012 by guitarist and vocalist Frederick, who began on bass before switching to guitar to unlock greater songwriting freedom. Their albums Sunny Forecast (2013) and Black Swan (2016) trace an arc from bright openings to darker revelations — "Black Swan" was inspired by the exposure of a once-untouchable manager. Frederick writes entirely by ear, searching for sounds rather than chord names, guided by the belief that the thing that truly counts is atmosphere.
